Marti Dodson is a BMI award winning singer/songwriter from Franklin Furnace, Ohio. She received a Master’s Degree in Social Work at The Ohio State University, where she founded pop/rock band Saving Jane in 2000. Saving Jane went on to become one of the highest charting indie bands of the last decade, with over 100,000 Mediabase spins at CHR radio. Marti penned and performed 2 RIAA Certified Gold Singles in Saving Jane, and her music has been featured in shows and commercials on NBC, ABC, MTV USA, MTV Italy, the WE network, and TLC. Her music was also used as theme music for TV personality/chef Rachael Ray, NASCAR and Indy race car driver Danica Patrick, and Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin, who went on to found a clothing line with Warner Brothers based on Marti’s song “Supergirl.” Country star Julie Roberts covered Marti’s song “Girl Next Door” in 2006, and sensing a potential career in songwriting, Marti began to branch out and write songs for other artists soon after. In late 2009, she signed a deal as a staff writer with New York-based publishing house Shapiro-Bernstein. Her song “Last Man Standing” was the theme and the first single for the winners of the 2009 season of German TV show “Popstars,” and Marti achieved 2 more gold records, one in Canada in 2009 with artist Suzie McNeil‘s version of “Supergirl,” and one in Belgium in 2011 with artistKevin‘s song “She’s Got Moves.” She also scored a hit on the Contemporary Christian charts in 2011 with “The Only Song” by Blessid Union of Souls, along with 3 other tracks she co-penned on their 2011 release “The Mission Field.
